Sea to Toruń Public Installation

After completing my master's degree, while working full time in “Empire”, I worked for the Laboratory of Sustainable Development (Pracownia Zrównoważonego Rozwoju) and led a small design team from DESK Design Kolektyw to take part in “Festiwal Wizje”(Festival Visions) in TORUŃ. Three scaled boats in a fun and engaging way referred to the coastal scenery, creating inside the busy city a place where people could stop for a moment and spend some quality relaxing time. The main idea of the project was the integration of younger and older generations. For that purpose, we created workshops aiming to expand the knowledge of construction by learning origami techniques. In addition to the design, I coordinated the project, worked on the construction of the installation, and was responsible for creating a learning environment and workshop sessions for the students involved. It was a very interesting challenge to share my experience with the undergrads and also rewarding to see how exciting and involved they became with the exhibition and DESK.
